"Time is a valuable thing / Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings" - Linkin Park, "In The End"

12/18/02 - wednesday - dazed.and.amazed
I must be back in my parents' good graces, at least for now - I convinced them to let me go to the midnight showing of The Two Towers w/ Daniel and his family. It was an AWESOME movie... although according to Daniel, it was completely different from the book. Oh well. I got a total of two hours of sleep - I wasn't that tired today, but now (at 6:45 pm) it's hitting me... goodnight...

12/16/02 - monday - pseudo.grounded
Yeah, I'm goin w/out AIM for a while, and I'm not allowed to go anywhere unless I have a good reason. The only event in the past month (besides Thanksgiving, which I spent down in Rehoboth) has been the vocal concert last Tuesday... that went really well. Oh yeah, and a week from yesterday, my youth group visited people from our church who are in nursing homes, sang carols with them (the poor souls), and gave them cookies. On our way out of one of the homes, some of the guys started up a snowball fight, and as a black car went by, a snowball sailed over it. The driver SLAMMED on the brakes (making our leaders think someone had been hit) and got out. It was a woman in her late 20s or early 30s, and she was like, "you did NOT just throw something at my car" (which wasn't even that nice). One of the guys answered, "you're right, we didn't" and she kind of huffed and got back in her car. She floored it around a turn in the parking lot, sped into a space, slammed her door, and walked by us mumbling under her breath. I told her that Jesus loved her and she kept walking... hehehe. It's so fun to be cheerful around grumpy ppl, b/c you either cheer them up or annoy them to death. Anyway. November and December are being fused on this site b/c of a lack of posts... the poll and the links have been updated. I'm gonna do somethin to the site soon to revive it... but I can't tell you what it is, b/c I don't know yet. :P

11/17/02 - sunday - great.weekend
Okay, screw the church links, just go here once in a while, and I'll mention any sermons that stand out.

I'm enjoying what is probably my last weekend of freedom for a while... On Friday, Brianna got the last 3 Harry Potter 2 tickets at Movies 10 for a showing earlier than 9:00! So her, Laura, and I saw it together and loved it. The band didn't go to the football game Saturday morning b/c of the weather. I was kinda sad b/c it would have been our last game, but then that night I went to a show w/ X-Large and Dawn Undercover. It put me in a great mood, first b/c I finally saw X-Large play after like two years of trying, and second b/c I've discovered a new band (and a new CD). Yesterday I sang for GEMS at the "other" school's open house, which was good, considering there were about half of us there and we had almost no altos.

So I just found out how badly I screwed up these past few months... long story made short, I basically was in denial about how much work I tried to do vs. how much work was actually getting done. I forced myself to be nocturnal by "resting" during the day and then rushing to catch up on homework at night... which doesn't work when you've gotta get up at 5:30 every weekday morning, and at 8:30 every Sunday morning. Some ppl blame it on marching band, but I usually did have enough time to do everything and I just took that fact for granted. I might be grounded from the Internet for a while when I get my report card - if I am, I'll let you know. And for those certain ppl who were bugging me about my work all along, I'll say it first... you told me so. :P Let's see, last Friday (11/1) was our first and only night game, and it was SO much fun! The competition two weeks ago wasn't bad, but Chapter Competitions last Saturday (11/2) was kinda disappointing. The band put on our best show by far, and we still didn't get that good of a score. According to the judges, we only improved marginally from our first competition this year... we all know that's not true, and we think it has somethin to do w/ the particular judges we had, but it's a downer to be left w/ a lower score than we thought we deserved. I still had a good time tho. Saturday was a good home game, but we still lost and the other team's band was disrespectful and they didn't even come over to the home side for the halftime show. Last Tuesday was election day, so we had school off, and today we have school off for Veteran's Day. Next Monday is an in-service day, and we have the last half of the following week off for conferences and Thanksgiving. I love November. I had enough time to finally pick some best-of's for October (they're in the archive, I didn't feel like writing blurbs about them), and then renewing because.i.said.so. There's also some updates on random.thoughts, and of course the archive.
